Hey Buddy! Hi Pete! and Other Catch Phrases

First – when a cute catch phrase is used against you in a crying, I’m not going to bed, plea for mercy – there is nothing more heartbreaking. I often great Noah with “Hey Buddy” and was surprised and entertained when he started saying it back. Until… The other night Noah was protesting being putting …

Sleep Training: Part F*&k I Need Some Sleep

Our baby started to beat the sh*t out of us in our own bed and we knew it was time for a change. Or maybe it was when he would just stand up in his crib crying unconsolably. And then fall asleep standing up head on crib rail, then wake back up again to cry. …

HandSanitizer

My Kid’s Best Friend is Hand Sanitizer

No need to call the authorities. He doesn’t open it…at least yet, anyway. He just sucks on the bottle. And holds it. The bottle still has the cap on. I put on his pajamas, and have to switch the hands its in, or else… Don’t judge, as I’m judging enough for the both of us. …

Airplane Baby Poop

Baby Poop :: Volume 3 – Poops on a Plane

Oh DEAR GOD changing a screaming baby in an airplane bathroom is a new level of stress, discomfort and AHHHHHH. Just taking myself back there is traumatic. It felt like MacGyver trying to diffuse a stinky, squirming, stinky bomb. And bomb this was! It was like Noah’s gut was pressurized and then released like a …

Roll Over Sleep Training

Water Fast + Sleep Training = WTF * OMG

So little did I know, when I committed to a three day water fast, that Noah was going to learn how to rollover. Oy. Initial sleep training had gone pretty smoothly. After his third month our pediatrician recommended stopping the night feed. We were scared with the sleep training. He’s co-sleeping, so we just basically …

Reflections on My First Father’s Day

I friggin love being a dad. Except when he cries. And that time Nicole miscallibrated putting on a diaper, aligning his but crack with the edge of the diaper. Not to digress too much, but the poop went everywhere BUT the diaper. The bitch Karma of it all was I had a choice to prep …
